Renowned Carnatic vocalist, writer and speaker, TM Krishna recently launched the second edition of The Edict Project, in collaboration with Ashoka University. The Edict Project has been conceived in four parts. This edition is based on the theme ‘Ashoka and Memory’.
Nayanjot Lahiri, Professor of History at Ashoka University and an expert on Ashokan and ancient Indian history worked with Krishna to cohere a format that would help Krishna render musically the relevance and wisdom of Ashoka’s public writings and decrees. Krishna’s musical project, complete with easy English translations, makes the edicts originally in accessible to the lay person.
